    Garnet's Holy Rod toes the line between DPS and utility. This does 7 AoE Lightning/non attacks, Enlightning, gives a party MAG/MND buff, and automatically casts a 2x AoE every 3.5 seconds. It sacrifices utility for overall DPS. Rating: 8.5/10 – It's alright

    Steiner's Excalibur II is an interesting concept, but falls short. It does 10 Fire/Ice/Lightning attacks, opts for a straight 100% RES boost, and grants Shining Knight. In simpler terms, when he tanks a Fire/Ice/Lightning spell casted from your ally, it gives him a corresponding Enelement of that element. If you cast Meltdown on him, it's Fire, Chain Blizzaga is Ice, and Thundaja is Thunder, and so on and so forth. It's also meant to be used with his BSB2, which is a problem in and of itself. Rating: 7/10 – Low-tier USB

    Vivi's Judgment Staff is the best mage USB in the game.This does 10x ST Fire/non attacks, gives him Enfire, MAG/RES+30%, and a True Dualcast for Black Magic. What makes it ludicrously overpowered is his Legend Dive, which makes him enter Trance at 20% HP. This gives him a 50% chance to dualcast Black Magic every turn, which stacks with this one. In short, you have a 50% chance to triplecast Meltdown with a fully dived Vivi. To give you an idea, Terra's USB does 99999, but takes 3 turns to charge. A Dualcasted Meltdown (easy to hit cap, since the Staff itself has native +Fire) does 72,000 every turn without factoring in triplecast. With it, you're doing over-OSB damage without having to use 2 turns to charge. It's ludicrous, and if you pull this you want to grind the living hell out of the new Black/Fire/Earth dailies to use this heavily. Rating: 10/10 – You just won the banner!

    Steiner's Shield Armor... Where do I start? Entry is 10x Fire/Ice/Lightning with Sentinel and Burst Mode. It really is odd how they handled him: they tried to make him a Knight/Spellblade hybrid and because of his tools, he ended up not being good at either of these roles. Now they're trying to make him a tank, despite him not being a tank in his original game. Not only does he suffer from The Tanking Problem, Beatrix generally has better options for it with her BSB and LMR. You could have obtained the former for 50 mythril.

    His commands are... 4x ST Fire/Ice/Lightning and 2x AoE Fire/Ice/Lightning. No DEF boost, no Guardbringer, not even a bad proc effect. Steiner essentially got Gen 1 commands on a BSB that was released in fucking December of 2017. You're largely dependent on his USB, and even then you'd need a mage to power him up. It takes far too much to make it even remotely useful. Rating: 2/10 – One of the worst BSBs

    Garnet's Staff of Ramuh is an okay utility BSB. It causes imperil Lightning, gives a stacking offensive buff, and goes into Burst Mode. It's a Summoning Mode BSB, so prepare for a long-winded explanation. When Summoning mode is off, the first command summons Ramuh, which turns on Summoning Mode and heals one party member for 40%. When Summoning Mode is on, it heals your party for 30% HP and doing two AoE attacks. And if you want to go offensive, the second command does 4 ST attacks, adding one more with Summoning Mode while removing it. It's fallen a bit to the wayside, however, with the increased proliferation. Rating: 7.5/10 – Cool

    I really like Vivi's Gravity Rod, and that's not even accounting for character bias. Entry is 6 AOE Fire/Ice/Lightning attacks, a stacking MAG/RES Faithga, and Burst Mode. CMD1 is 4x ST Fire/Ice/Lightning, while 2x is Fire/non with MAG+/DEF-. It sacrifices some of the DPS of, say, Palom's BSB, for Faithga potential and buff-stacking. It's the best multi-element BSB out there because of its utility. However, if we're talking about Faithga hybrids, the extra element isn't as good as Rapha or Raines BSB, or a high tier USB. Rating: 8/10 – Nice to have

    Eiko's Hamelin is a strong BSB for physical teams. Not only is it a Medica, but it's also a 50% Critga to boost DPS even further. Although the damage boost is only 25%, this 25% is a flat boost that ignores the softcap. The Curaja adds a Physical blink, and the AoE Cure is always welcome for heals. The only problem is that we're in the Cloud Meta. Thus, due to Orlandu and Cloud USBs, this relic has fallen behind in power creep. Rating: 8/10 - Mid-tier healing BSB

    Garnet's Lamia's Tiara increases buffs by 30%. She has a lot, and gets even more this January when the Bard abilities come out. Rating: 5/10 – Generic Buff LMR

    Eiko's Guise is powerful too. She gets a 25% Dualcast White Magic proc. It's good. Rating: 9/10 – Dualcast White!

    Vivi's Hat is okay, but largely dependent on his Ultra. This increases his cast time by about 25% while increasing his Black Magic damage by 25%. Since this is all he does, it's fairly useful. Rating: 6/10 – Nice

    Garnet's Royal Gown is great for a SSB. It's a stacking MAG/DEF Boostga and a 3000 HP Stockga. The Stockga essentially amounts to a Curaga Medica, which is nice. You don't even have to waste the "Medica" because it's stock! The only downside is that it doesn't stack with Raines BSB or other USBs. Rating: 7/10 – A powerful SSB

    Tin Armor is 4x AoE and Imperil Fire. In short, it's Mom Bomb. Rating: 2/10 – We have Magicites for this

    VERDICT: If you're a whale, you want Vivi USB. If not, I'd skip. Steiner's stuff SUCKS.

    Banner 2:

    Zidane's Masamune is also very strong. This SB does 10 RT attacks, gives Imperil Wind, and EX Mode, Master Thief. Master Thief is ATK+30% and chases every Thief ability with a single-hit Wind attack, and gives another 35% chance to chase every Thief ability with an attack that gives a 10% Imperil Wind to stack with your original Imperil Wind. It's obviously extremely good as support DPS, and if you can induce his Trance (giving him CT0 on all Thief abilities, you have a strong secondary DPS who can do Wind support. Rating: 10/10 - You just won the banner!

    Kuja's Demon's Rod is a plug-and-play SB with Doom. Which you will be using anyway. Rating: 9/10 – Very strong conditional OSB.

    Steiner's Break Blade is Fire/Ice/Lightning that pays a fairly steep multi-element tax. It's best used with his USB, I guess, and even that's questionable. Rating: 8/10 – Low-tier OSB

    Marcus's Platinum Dagger would have been amazing a few months ago. This does 6 AoE Wind/Bio attacks, debuffs their MAG and DEF by 50%, and enters Burst Mode. Commands are the same as Vaan's BSB (CMD1 MAG breakdown, CMD2 ninjacast DEF Breakdown), but Wind/Poison and 2-hit. Unfortunately we're in the Magicite Age, so debuffs are somewhat mediocre. Rating: 8.5/10 – Useful anywhere outside Magicite

    I honestly have no idea why Zidane's Sargatanas exists. This is a very odd item. Entry is 9 wind attacks with Enwind and Burst Mode, but Burst Mode is unique. CMD1 is 2 ST attacks and a small, stacking Steal Power. Let's call this buff Swift Steal. Swift Steal can stack up to 3 times, and it debuffs ATK by 10% increments. CMD2 does 2 ST hits and gives the party a Boostga depending on thow often you used CMD1. Let's call it Gentleman's Gift. This would be better if it didn't take at least 4 turns to set up. It's honestly pretty underwhelming unless you're RWing Vaan's USB or you're taking advantage of his aforementioned Trance mode. It's not as terrible as Steiner's BSB2, but it's not enough to justify its constant presence over The Ogre. Rating: 4/10 – A clear downgrade from his BSB1

    Kuja's Terra's Legacy has aged very, very poorly as his Legend Dive was released – something I overlooked in my laziness in my Dissidia review. Entry is 8 ST attacks and Imperil Dark. Both commands are your generic 4x ST/2x AoE, with bonus damage under Doom. It has 2x AoE with Doom, which is an upside. The biggest downsides are that these commands are inexplicably BLK and not DRK (which proc his Dualcast). In addition, the 4x ST is useless due to the Dark Zone buff, making it lacking. Rating: 4/10 – At least it gives him AoE options

    Beatrix's Lightbringer is alright too. Entry does 4 AoE hits with Imperil Holy, and has a condition depending on everyone being still alive. CMD1 is 2x ST and Sentinel, while CMD2 is 2x ST and RES boost. This is actually fairly useful for Imperil stacking and Guardbringer spam. Rating: 7.5/10 – Still a solid Imperil

    Zidane's Gloves give a 35% to add a charge of Quickcast after every Thief ability. The problem with this is that his Trance (when induced) gives him CT0 Thief attacks. Rating: 3/10 - Not practically useful

    Steiner's Gold Armor is a 25% chance to use a Minor Imperil after Fire-elemental stuff. Rating: 6/10 – Can be somewhat useful

    Kuja's Treno's Royalty gives him Endark. Rating: 6/10 – Generic Endark LMR

    Marcus's Bandana does 6 AoE Wind/Poison attacks and gives Pentabreak. Not much to say. Rating: 4/10 - Pentabreak!

    Beatrix's Ragnarok does 5 ST hits and gives Magic Blink. Not really much to say, though the MND sword could be situationally useful. Rating: 4/10 - Nah

    VERDICT: This banner sucks. Masamune is cool and all as a support but everything else is mediocre/sucks.

    Man, Steiner just can't catch a break, can he?

    I've seen Robai/Jamie (I think Jamie) do some scary things in multiplayer with Zidane USB and Dash & Slash. Or was it Vaan with Thief's Revenge, hitting 7k a tick? OR BOTH?

    The single value I am seeing in him and his USB is - a knight with a decent resistance boost (thanks to his large res up on his USB). This gunna be nice with wall and he will chill when attracting those nasty ST magic attacks in some boss battles.. It is just a shame the game isn’t well designed around the tank meta - but otherwise nice to see decent resistance on a Knight user making him bulky!

    Fair play haha! One question about his USB ex-mode.. does it cause allies to take no damage from at least ST fire/ice/lightning damage? - casting meltdown on him sounds dangerous if he takes the damage!

    No, there's no tanking from it. They cast it, he gets hit, takes the damage, and gets an enelement.

    Go for it. Even without his USB, his LD makes him a DPS monster. Only caveat is the need for high hones.
